Farmers March

Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Pawar, Sitaram Yechury, Farooq Abdullah and Sharad Yadav hijack the farmer protests.

Leaders addressed the farmers at Jantar Mantar. Representatives of 21 political parties leaders got together on the stage at the massive gathering.

The political leaders have hijacked the farmers protest and used the platform to show strength.




They showed their unity, against the Modi Government and heard farmer issues. However the political parties have just done a lip service to garner support of the distressed farmers for their political motives in General Elections 2019.

Thousands of farmers from across the nation have descended at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. Their two day protest will culminate when they march towards parliament. They demand loan waivers and better prices for their produce.



The farmers were supported by Left and a number of groups. The farmers that attempted to walk down parliament street last time were water cannoned, and lathi charged. This time around 3,500 additional personal have been called in.

Farmers from Tamil Nadu carried skulls of their colleagues who had committed suicide. Farmers from Sunderbans in West Bengal travelled 30 hours on train to make it to Ramlila.

Gurdwaras in Delhi offered farmers a stay for the night. Volunteers, doctors, lawyers, professors and artists, came out in large numbers to help. The Delhi Jal Board will provide water tankers and Aam Aadmi Party legislators will distribute food packets.

India’s current economy is still largely dependent on the agriculture. The agrarian distress will hurt the ruling BJP in the ongoing and coming general elections.

The political class and states in India have misplaced their priorities. From statues, changing city names, celebrating jayanti’s, temple politics and religion, none have addressed the nation’s true concerns.
