Election Commission To Discuss Modi, Shah and Rahul Gandhi’s Model Code Of Conduct Violations On Tuesday

The Model Code violations by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, will be taken up at a meeting tomorrow said the Election Commission to media today.

The crucial meeting will be held around the same time when the Supreme Court hears the Congress party’s appeal to direct the commission to speed up the decision on poll code violations against the PM Modi and Amit Shah.

The Prime Minister was accused of violating the Model Code referring the Pulwama and Balakot air strikes during his election campaign, which the Election Commission had already banned.

The second complaint filed the Prime Minister was about the mini roadshow and speech in he conducted in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad last week when he casted his vote.

The commission was still sitting on the complaint against BJP chief Amit Shah for calling the armed forces “Modi Sena” (Modi’s army).

Meanwhile, the BJP had complained against Rahul Gandhi for his “chowkidar chor hai” slogan.

Last month, the election commission was pulled up by the Supreme Court of India for sitting dumb on the hate speeches by political leaders. Since the court direction, the EC took action by banning a few leaders temporality for violating the model code of conduct.
