President Donald Trump was mocked for calling Apple CEO Tim Cook "Tim Apple" to his face at a meeting in the White House last week. On Monday, the President of the United States comes up with an explanation.
Mr Trump said his apparent slip-up at a White House roundtable with business leaders last Wednesday had been on purpose.
"I quickly referred to Tim + Apple as Tim/Apple as an easy way to save time & words," Trump explained on Twitter.
At a recent round table meeting of business executives, & long after formally introducing Tim Cook of Apple, I quickly referred to Tim + Apple as Tim/Apple as an easy way to save time & words. The Fake News was disparagingly all over this, & it became yet another bad Trump story!

It’s hard to believe Trump forgot Cook’s name, but even harder to believe that President Trump comes up with an explanation for his fiasco.
According to Axios news site, POTUS came up with a different explanation during a private meeting of Republican donors in Florida on Friday, and finally decided to go with "save time & words".
This is what President Trump said last Wednesday.
