Diary claims BS Yeddyurappa bribed BJP top brass ₹1,800 crore to become Chief Minister

The Congress party attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party after a diary noting of BS Yeddyurappa revealed that he funnelled INR₹ 1,800 crore to Bharatiya Janata Party’s members and central committee.

Congress quoted the news report that published the details of corruption within the BJP and demanded answers from the ruling party.

The news report published by The Caravan claims that a diary with notes of Yeddyurappa having paid over INR₹ 1,800 crore to national BJP leaders such as Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh as well as judges and advocates.




The Congress leader Randeep Surjewala held a press conference and demanded answers over the news report. Surjewala demanded that the newly constituted Lokpal look into the multi crore corruption scandal.

He also claimed that Yeddyurappa’s diary with signature on all pages is in the possession of the Income Tax (IT) department since 2017. The Congress leader further said that the Narendra Modi government had denied permission to investigate the diary trail.

BS Yeddyurappa dismissed these allegations, claiming he received clean chit from the IT department.
