Chief Minister Of Goa Manohar Parrikar Passes Away

The sitting  Goa Chief Minister and former Defence Minister of India, Manohar Parrikar died on Sunday evening after battling pancreatic cancer for more than a year.

The tragic announcement was made by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind on twitter.

Parrikar who was 63 years was battling cancer for more than a year. His health had been fluctuating for the last few days, and on Saturday it worsened. The Chief Minister was last month admitted at the Goa Medical College and Hospital near Panaji.




Manohar Parrikar had been in and out of hospitals for the past one year in New York, Mumbai, Delhi and Goa.

Over the past recent months Mr. Parrikar made appearances with a tube in his nose, looking frail. He also went to the state assembly in Goa to present the budget. Following his death several politicians and public figures condoled his demise.
