Anti-Hindu Pakistan Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan Forced To Quit

Information and Culture Minister in Pakistan’s Punjab Fayyazul Hassan Chohan was sacked for anti-Hindu comments. The minister during a press conference referred Hindus as “cow urine-drinking people”.

Fayyazul Chohan had to apologise for his derogatory comments on Hindus. The minister was summoned by Pakistan’s Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, and was asked to turn in his papers.

Imran Khan’s  Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party tweeted, “PTI Punjab government has removed Fayyaz Chohan from the post of Punjab Information Minister following derogatory remarks about the Hindu community. Bashing someone’s faith should not b a part of any narrative.Tolerance is the first & foremost pillar on which #Pakistan was built.”

The minister justified his comments on Pakistan’s GEO TV that he was addressing Indian Prime Minister and Indian Armed Forces and the Indian media, but not the minority Hindu community in Pakistan.

His comments come at a time when there are tensions between the two nuclear powered nations.
