2nd ODI: India win thriller, Kohli slams 40th ODI century

India won the second One Day International match against Australia in Nagpur today. With this win India lead the ODI series 2-0.

Indian bowlers bowled out Australia in a last ball thriller at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur.

Captain Virat Kohli earlier powered Indian batting by smashing his 40th ODI hundred. Kohli scored 116 off 120 balls to set a target of 250 for Australia.

Australia made a formidable start in their chase but fell towards the end, 8 runs short of the target.

Vijay Shankar picked up two wickets in the final over in which Australia required 11 runs to win.

Jasprit Bumrah picked up two crucial wickets in the 46th over and conceded just 1 run in the 48th over. Bumrah is extremely reliable in the death overs.

Indian spinners made sure to choke Australia during the middle overs.

Virat Kohli’s ton helped India to get to the target of 250, which was just enough to win against the Aussies. Kohli stayed at the crease right from the start till the 48th over. He struck 10 boundaries in his innings.

India now lead the 5 match ODI series 2-0, the third ODI will be played in Ranchi on Friday.
