India’s 16 year old shooter Saurabh Chaudhary wins the gold medal in men’s 10 metre Air Pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi on Sunday.
This is the second gold for India at the world cup after Apurvi Chandela won the first gold medal on Saturday.
Saurabh won a gold in the youth olympics last year, defeated Serbia’s Damir Mikec to claim the gold with a world record score of 245. This win also qualified himself a spot in the 2020 Tokyo olympics.
Saurabh after winning the game said, “I just tried to keep doing what I usually do. I never thought about the quota or the world record, else I wouldn’t be here.”
The 16 year old also won gold medal at the Asian games.

The teenage shooter dominated the eight men final, he finished 5.7 points ahead of the silver medalist. Saurabh scored 245 points, silver medalist Dami Mikec of Serbia got 239.3 points and China’s Wei Pang grabbed the bronze medal managed 215 points.
